8.3.1. Remembering

Remembering represents the lowest level of learning outcomes in the cognitive domain. At this first level of Bloom’s taxonomy, students recall previously learned material; they are asked to recognize knowledge and facts. In the lowest ordered skills, learning may involve the acquisition of a wide range of material, from specific data, statistics, and figures to complete theories. At this level, faculty expect their students to bring to mind appropriate information. For example, “The student will list the six levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy of the Cognitive Domain.”
